There are many kinds of business technology, but many people do not think of the need for specialty hardware such as is used in marine computers and aviation computers. These are rugged laptops and rugged notebooks used by maintenance crews, and pilot crews (both air and sea) commercially and in the armed services, as well as police, and public service.

Rugged mobile computers are built to perform in such diverse situations. It makes sense that these same type computers work well for many different business applications for small to large enterprise.

Maybe you don’t plan on such extreme conditions that can be presented by marine and aviation environments, but it’s nice to know that your everyday mobile computer gear could stand up to the corrosive abuse of salt water, air and spray, or extremes in atmospheres (changes in altitude).

Marine computers and aviation computers also guard against high humidity and are designed to be sealed from weather and chemical elements. Even cable shielding from EMI-RFI interference (electromagnetic and radio frequency transmissions) is something to consider, as this can create safety issues.
